Ed's Great Adventure Soaring Trip

Thursday June 14, 2000

Not much to report today.  With winds forecast to be 20-30 mph out of the west, and temperatures over 110, we decided to pack it back in the box and drive to California.

Got up at 5am so we could get to the airport and beat the heat.  Didn't help a whole lot, it was still hot putting the plane away. The winds were not bad at first but I'm very glad I opted not to fly.  By the time we go to California we had steady 25mph winds with gusts to 45!  I would not want to land in that!

Here's a few pictures from today.

Packing

Too windy to fly (25mph steady, 40-45 gusts), but the windmills were happy!

So, here's the question of the day.  Who can tell me what kind of tree this is?
